Collecting feathers has been a huge hurdle due to strict and important laws in place that prevent the illegal poaching of birds such as the Fishing and Wildlife Services Act.
In the collection of feathers for our mosaic, it was important to us to source our feathers as ethically as possible rather than buy them and support unethical breeding practices.
Apart from our own collecting of found feathers, TC Feathers Aviary has been a major supporter throughout this project in the supplying of feathers for our mosaic. We highly value TC Feathers Aviary’s enormous effort not only in raising healthy and happy birds, but in rescuing and rehoming them as well. We understand that this is an extremely valuable service, not only for the birds, but the entire avian community.
